In Luke 14: 7-14, Jesus is a dinner guest at the home of a Pharisee when he tells the parable of the wedding banquet. About halfway through the parable, the host is challenged to be an agent of change. Instead of inviting only those who can return this honor, he is asked to invite to these celebratory banquets those who have no social capital for repayment – “the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.” Paul Mikelson will lead this study, with an eye on radical inclusion.
